Vitamin C Serum – Numerous Anti-aging Effects

by: Dr. Jay Calvert

Vitamin C Serum is a unique anti-aging product. Beneficial effects on wrinkles, pigmented areas and overall face rejuvenation have been observed.

Although many anti-aging products’ ingredients are available on today’s market, few have proven efficacy in skin rejuvenation. Products with natural ingredients have gained attention lately due to the proven anti-aging effects of some naturally occurring elements as vitamins and trace elements. Vitamin C has been proven lately to have numerous skin rejuvenating effects.

Vitamin C is an essential water soluble antioxidant vitamin that aids in synthesis of skin collagen as well as protecting the skin against the hazardous effects of sun light. The body stores of vitamin C markedly decrease with age, and unhealthy habits, especially smoking, decrease the body reservoir even more. Vitamin C is not synthesized inside the body and must be ingested either through the diet, or through oral vitamin supplementations. Also, for vitamin C to produce its anti-aging skin effects, it must be applied topically. The effect of Vitamin C in protecting the skin against the harmful effect of sun rays has been proved by the marked reduction of the vitamin in the skin cells after exposure to ultraviolet radiation. Moreover, a combination of both vitamins C and E work together to enhance their protective effects against sun related aging effects.

Collagen synthesis can markedly affect the signs of aging of the skin. Vitamin C is an essential factor that is indispensible to form healthy collagen fibers. Vitamin C stimulates skin collagen synthesis which has many anti-aging effects that include reducing wrinkles and firming the skin of the face which aids in whole face rejuvenation.

Skin aging is associated with increased pigment deposition in the skin of the face which can lead to darkening of some areas. Vitamin C, when applied topically to the skin, can reduce aging related pigmentation which has encouraged many manufacturers to include it in various skin lightening products.

Several forms of vitamin C preparations have been used in numerous anti-aging topical products in efforts to maximize delivery of this vitamin to the skin. However, most studies have shown that Vitamin C containing topical skin serums have proven to maximize delivery of the vitamin to the cells of the skin. Moreover, some studies have shown that topical skin serums can allow Vitamin C to remain in the cells for days after application which maximizes the anti-aging effects and the stimulation of collagen synthesis.

Dr. Jay Calvert has formulated a unique anti-aging topical protein serum. The Vitamin C Serum contains about 10% of its content as Vitamin C. Moreover, the Vitamin C Serum contains a selection of vitamins, proteins as well as a blend of 6 seaweeds that have been reported to have marvelous skin anti-aging effects. The Vitamin C is in the form of a controlled release preparation which allows the vitamin to remain in the skin cells for days after application. The serum is an ideal skin rejuvenating product. Dr. Calvert uses the serum to encourage wound healing, remove aging pigmentation and reduce redness and other signs of aging. Dr. Calvert recommends the Vitamin C Serum to be your all time anti-aging formula.

The Basics of Anti-Aging Skin Care

by: Sue Dolan

The very first question most people have when exploring the realm of anti-aging skin care is, “What skin rejuvenation products have been proven to be effective”? Accurate information regarding the multitude of anti-aging treatments flooding the marketplace is the best way to make informed decisions for developing your own skin rejuvenation regime which incorporates the anti-aging skin care techniques, strategies and treatments that best address your personal aging skin issues. The http://www.SkinCareResourceCenter.com explores all facets of anti-aging skin care and skin rejuvenation in the e-knowledge modules of The Skin Care e-Learning and Resource Center.

The basics of effective skin rejuvenation begin with the facts on anti-aging skin care treatments. There are several active ingredients that have been clinically proven to be effective skin rejuvenators. One of the most effective treatments is vitamin A derivatives such a retinol or retinyl palmitate.

The Retin A or Renova vitamin A treatments are the strongest although the most irritating treatments of the vitamin A options and are only available by prescription. If your skin needs major rejuvenation attention, ask your Doctor if you are a candidate for the prescription vitamin A treatment of Retin A or Renova.

If not, including one of the other retinol alternatives in your skin care routine is an excellent strategy. The concentration of over-the-counter retinol products can range up to 1%. The basic rule of thumb is, the higher the concentration, the stronger the treatment. Be forewarned though, read the directions carefully because the stronger retinol products can be quite irritating to the skin. Starting slow and gradually working your way up to higher concentrations will allow you skin to adjust to the treatments better. The vitamin A derivative, Retinyl Palmitate, is the less irritating of the Vitamin A options and is considered to have quite effective rejuvenating qualities.

The next most beneficial anti-aging skin rejuvenation treatment is a chemical exfoliant such as an alpha hydroxyl acid (AHA) or beta hydroxyl acid (BHA) product. The most popular of these acids is an AHA glycolic acid. Glycolic acid should be use in concentrations of 8% to 15% depending on your skin’s sensitivity. Start out with a lower concentration and gradually move up to a 10% then 15% concentration depending on your skin’s tolerance in order to avoid irritation.

The last consideration is including an antioxidant to contain the skin damaging free radicals as well as to encourage overall skin repair. Products containing Vitamin C Ester, Spin Trap, or CoQ10 are all good options to explore. Then, of course, there are other viable anti-aging treatments which can be incorporated into your regime depending on your particular skin rejuvenation needs which include DMAE, Kinerase or Kinetin, and GHK Copper Peptides. Finally, the most critical and essential aspect to any successful skin rejuvenation regime is sunscreen, at least once a day, each and every day!

Should I Worry About the Side Effects of HGH?

by: Steve Cole

The simple answer to the question, “Should I worry about the side effects of HGH?” is simple. You should be concerned about the side effects of HGH, but not necessarily worried. Any time you alter your body’s chemistry or ability to produce a hormone, you should learn as much as you can about what the side effects might be. No reputable will sell you an HGH enhancer or supplement without being completely honest about the possible side effects. If a company says there are never any side effects and that you need to blindly trust them, you should look for a different supplier for your HGH needs.

Are All Side Effects of HGH Bad?

These days people assume that every side effect of a medicine or supplement is automatically bad. The truth is, many medicines have unexpected side effects that can be quite pleasant and beneficial to your health. In the early years of HGH therapy, the goal was to enhance growth, particularly height, in children and teenagers whose pituitary gland didn’t produce enough natural Human Growth Hormone. Over time, researchers and doctors discovered that these patients often lost excess weight and seemed to perform better at athletic tasks.

These positive side effects led to new research into how HGH could improve the lives of people who, as they aged, had experienced a drop in their HGH levels. The theory that HGH could improve their lives by increasing lean muscle mass, decreasing body weight and enhancing the immune system proved true, with the greatest positive impact on individuals over the age of sixty. Many of these patients experienced pleasant side effects such as an increased sex drive, more stamina and a better overall mood.

Of course, there can be negative side effects to HGH enhancement as well. These are often less noticeable if an individual uses HGH enhancers rather than getting the daily HGH injections sometimes given by physicians. The science behind the reasons boils down to a simple truth – daily injections force high levels of recombinant DNA HGH into the body, which can shock the system or trigger side effects because the body may not be ready for the sudden, increased surge of growth hormone.

On the other hand, homeopathic HGH enhancers actually stimulate your pituitary gland to stimulate more of your own HGH. Your body isn’t “surprised” by the increase because it is naturally occurring within your body, not being artificially introduced. If you look for HGH enhancers that are time released you can reduce the chance of side effects even more. A slow release formula that is absorbed into the blood stream at a steady rate won’t lead to spikes in HGH that can lead to side effects. The higher the quality of an HGH formulation, the less likely it is you will suffer from the unpleasant side effects of HGH such as joint pain.

So what are the negative side effects of HGH? The joint pain just mentioned is one that is often felt during the first few weeks of use, but this usually fades as your body adjusts to the increased levels of HGH. Fluid retention, another mild side effect of HGH, also usually decreases as time passes. If these are the only side effects you experience, you’ll probably agree that these are more like minor inconveniences compared to the many advantages of increased HGH production.

The few serious side effects, such as bone overgrowth, severe joint pain or an irregular heartbeat, are often the result of misusing HGH injectable replacement therapy. Be sure you understand how much HGH enhancer you should take and how often, and avoid the temptation to take more than necessary on the theory that “more is better.” This isn’t true and can turn an otherwise wonderful health benefit into a potential health problem.

If you compare brands and find the most trusted HGH enhancers available, you will be able to enjoy improved health and vitality without suffering from any serious side effects of HGH.

Pure HGH Releasers

by: Aaron Anderson

Consider what a perfect form of pure HGH would actually be. In my opinion the purest form of growth hormone would have to be that which is already naturally produced by the human body. Essentially, our own activated supply of pure somatotropin.

In fact, this is exactly what a new line of natural HGH supplements is designed for. HGH releasers are a blend of powerful amino acids formulated in synergistic combination to provide the necessary building blocks for the pituitary gland to produce elevated levels of growth hormone.

Somatotropin is your body’s own unique form of human growth hormone. Activating this ready supply with natural supplements is the purest form of HGH you could hope to find.

It's important to understand these supplements do not contain any real or synthetic hormone. Instead, they are a powerful activation stimulus for enhanced HGH production and delivery.

Releasers provide L-Arginine, L-Lysine, L-Ornithine, and other key catalysts to stimulate growth hormone synthesis. L-Arginine alone has been shown to boost HGH production by as much as 3x, even into old age. This taken in combination with L-Lysine has demonstrated a remarkable ability to enhance the effectiveness of L-Arginine even further, by up to 10x. L-Ornithine provides further support for this combination of powerful amino acids.

Natural HGH releasers work as a growth hormone replacement therapy, simply by activating your own natural production and delivery of somatotropin. In light of these facts, it’s easy to see why natural releasers get superior results, with one of the safest HGH products on the market.

Within the first month you can begin to experience the wide range of benefits that increased levels of growth hormone provide. You will begin to notice improved skin tone, real fat loss, restored hair growth, increased endurance, improved sexual response, and a reduction of fine facial lines and wrinkles.

This pure form of HGH replacement therapy is gaining popularity all the time. The reason is simply because it’s the ultimate way to supplement your body’s own natural production system for enhanced levels of growth hormone and health benefit. A natural, pure, and effective form of replacement therapy is now available.

Oil Free Anti-Aging Facial Moisturizer Creams - Does Such a Product Really Exist?

by: Dorothy A. Pela

Let's admit it; all of us who have applied on our face any moisturizers at all, we've experienced that nasty, greasy, feeling that would persist for hours and would not go away, even after persistent washing off.

No wonder, then, that having gone through that experience, we are all looking for that ideal oil free anti-aging facial moisturizer, which would work wonders for our skin.

But, first let's get the facts straight.

The best facial moisturizer is a product that hydrates the skin, and/or protects the skin from dehydration, which is the primary culprit for the aging of our skin, that we all want to prevent. Overall, the moisturizer helps our skin to function properly in conditions of cold and wind.

Moisturizers are usually creams or lotions and their consistency varies from light to heavy, depending on their content of thickening agents.

These creams are essentially oil-in-water emulsions. What this means is that they consist of tiny droplets of oil held in a watery base.

In order for a moisturizer to be effective, the oil and the water in the cream must not separate out even during long-term storage. So, part of the skill for a specialist in the formulation of the best facial moisturizer lies in the ability to create a formula that can hold the oil in the water base for a long time without separation or deterioration.

Therefore, based on the above, you can conclude that there is no such thing as an oil free anti-aging facial moisturizer.

However, not all oils are created equal.

What I mean is that, in order to be effective, a good moisturizer must have the following qualities:

First, as mentioned above, the emulsion based cream must keep its original formulation for a long time.

Second, the oil used in the cream must be able to penetrate into the inner layers of the skin, without interfering with its natural oils that are essential to its long term health.

Unfortunately, however, in many of the facial moisturizers that exist in the market today, even those that carry a big brand name, the type of oil used is mineral oil. This type of oil, (otherwise known as liquid paraffin, paraffin wax, and petrolatum) is a petroleum by-product that coats the skin to keep in moisture.

Because it doesn't have that ability to penetrate beneath your skin surface, you feel it to be very unpleasant. Clinical studies show that it clogs the pores and strips the natural oils from the skin, causing chapping and dryness, also premature ageing.

If you wonder why skincare manufacturers insist on using mineral oil, despite the damage it causes to the skin, the answer is obvious: Because it is cheap!

What I encourage you to look for instead, are moisturizers that have high quality, rich plant based oils. Two of my personal favorites are Avocado and Macadamia Oils.

Avocado Oil is deeply hydrating and highly compatible with your skin's own oils. It is also a powerful anti-oxidant, removing the free radicals and toxins which are produced from your skin's natural functions.

Avocado oil also contains nutrients which are very good for your skin such as vitamins A, D and E, lecithin, beta-carotene, potassium and essential proteins.

Macadamia Oil is also proven to be very beneficial for your skin. It has similar properties like avocado oil, helping your skin restore its youthfulness and maintain a soft, silky feeling to the touch.

So, instead of an oil free anti-aging facial moisturizer, start looking for a moisturizer that contains the right, high quality oils which will give your skin a radiant look and keep it young and firm.

Natural Anti-Aging Skin Care

by: Jennifer Kays

Our skin is of vital importance to our health. Our skin is responsible for providing protection from environment, providing us with an emotional sense of boundary, creating sensual awareness to communication with the "outside" world e.g. feeling pleasure or pain signals that are vital to our survival and well being.. How our skin feels physically often determines the way we feel emotionally.

Our skin is one way that we communicate information about ourselves to others. We blush, turn pale, signal "worry" or "stress"with wrinkles in our forehead or around our eyes and mouth. Our skin often is used by others to form an impression of our age, how much we are indoors or outdoors and our activity, through scars, wrinkles, colors, and texture of our skin. Our skin is a signal to ourselves and others about our overall health internally, externally, physically and emotionally. "How do I look?" i.e. "What are others seeing and, perhaps, thinking about me?", is a question about the appearance of our skin. This information comes from the tone, texture, firmness, and aroma of our skin.

Our skin is one of the largest "organs" of our body composing about 10% of our body weight. Our skin entirely replaces it's surface about every 60 to 90 days. Our skin eliminates waste, toxins, sends signals to our internal bodies, and actually breathes. Disturbances in our skin, e.g. eruptions, dryness, oil, rash, "age spots" wrinkles, blotches, etc are often an indication of our internal health..

Many of us have used synthetic prescription drugs, lotions, or creams, to care for our skin. Often these synthetic substances are accompanied by undesired and sometimes harmful "side effects". Our bodies are designed by nature to absorb and use substances that are natural. When an "unnatural", i.e. synthetic substance, is introduced into or on our body, it "interprets" that synthetic, unnatural substance as "foreign"or as an "invader".Our body protects itself either through the production of antibodies from our immune system or does not absorb these synthetic substances.

In contrast, our body readily recognizes, absorbs and uses natural substances as the appropriate material to use to build, repair and sustain itself. Our skin operates in the same way as the rest of our body in terms of what it will or will not absorb and use. Natural substances are recognized by our skin, internally and externally, as "welcome" ingredients for use in building, repairing, and sustaining itself.

There are many natural anti-aging skin care products we can use topically on the outer surface of our skin. All natural anti-aging skin care products contain vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, amino acids, essential fatty acids, and aromas from nature that our skin readily recognizes as appropriate for use. All natural lotions and ointments, help our skin to maintain it's healthy tone, texture, elasticity, aroma and to repair injury, discard waste, breathe properly, sense appropriately, release used skin cells, build new skin cells, protect us, and improve our appearance.. These all natural products contain amino acids, vitamins, antioxidants, herbs, enzymes, aromatherapy oils, and other natural substances that support our skin health.

Remember that the most important factor in the health of our skin is our internal physical health. An important aspect of anti-aging skin care is healthy digestion and elimination. Our intestinal system is responsible for absorbing food, nutrients, and water and for eliminating waste and toxins from our bodies. When our intestinal digestive system is overwhelmed, it places an extra burden on our skin to increase it's waste disposal function. When our skin's waste disposal function becomes overwhelmed, we develop skin disorders. This is particularly true when we are tying to digest processed foods, dairy products, or other foods lacking fiber. Food becomes putrefied and toxic because it cannot be processed or eliminated properly. Our skin then attempts to remove these toxins. Pores may become clogged, inflamed, discolored, dry, or oily. If we want healthy anti-aging skin, we need to keep our intestinal digestive system functioning properly. We can help our digestive system with all natural enzymes, essential fatty acids, probiotics and fiber.

Digestive enzymes reduce large food particles so that the body can absorb nutrients and the entire body, skin included, benefits. Discolored skin, wrinkles, or blemishes, can be signs of enzyme deficiency and the loss of collagen that accompanies it. Digestive enzymes reduce free radical damage, help us remove toxins and maintain a healthy balance of beneficial intestinal microflora. Probiotics provide and maintain a healthy balance of intestinal flora, vital to our intestinal digestive health and, in turn, the health of our skin. Beneficial flora promotes the health bacteria we need and destroys harmful bacteria that can lead to illness and infection. Unfortunately, synthetic prescription antibiotics destroy the good bacteria along with the harmful bacteria. Probiotics help restore the healthy microflora and bacteria after synthetic antibiotic use. Probiotics also help the skin to have healthy bacteria it needs and eliminate the growth of harmful bacteria.

All natural vitamins such as Vitamins A, C, and E are essential for anti-aging skin care. Vitamin A is needed for skin cell growth and renewal. Vitamin A is an antioxidant that fights free radicals, provides nourishment for the fat layer under the skin. Vitamin A deficiency results in dry, rough skin, eruptions, wrinkles, poor texture and tone. Vitamin C helps repair skin by building collagen and fighting infection. Vitamin C deficiency is connected to aging and ultra violet ray damage. Vitamin E also protects our skin from UV damage, reduces free radicals on our skin surface, and helps prevent the peroxidation of fats which results in skin cell damage.

All natural herbs improve complexion, help remove heat, toxins and swelling from our skin. Herbs can help lighten skin and maintain natural skin moisture..Herbs help prevent scar formation and facilitate new healthy skin growth.

Amino Acids fight harmful bacteria and viruses. Amino acids help carry vital oxygen throughout the body helping our skin breathe. Amino acids are part of facilitating enzyme efficiency and hormonal balance which is a major aspect of anti-aging skin care. Amino acids help stimulate collagen production. Collagen is the tissue that determines skin firmness. By increasing the production of collagen, amino acids can help our skin retain it's firmness, therefore reducing lines and wrinkles.

Essential fatty acids, EFAs, help our skin to become softer, smoother, and retain proper moisture content. Essential fatty acids have a very beneficial effect an the synthesis of prostaglandin hormones in our skin cells. Omega 3, an essential fatty acid, greatly benefits skin texture and may also help prevent the development of skin cancer and aging of our skin.

Our bodies produce Hyaluronic acid which is found to be abundant in young skin. The affects of aging and environment gradually reduces the amount of hyaluronic acid our bodies produce and maintain. Hyaluronic acid is important for our body's connective tissue, especially in our skin. Hyaluronic acid also helps to cushion, lubricate and provide needed flexibility for our skin.

Alpha Lipoic Acid is becoming well known for it's anti-aging effects and is a potent antioxidant that combats skin damage and helps repair past skin damage. Alpha lipoic acid provides great free radical defense especially when combined with other anti-aging antioxidants.Alpha lipoic acid is soluble in both oil and water. Alpha lipoic acid enhances the benefits of vitamins C and E and Coenzyme Q 10.

Coenzyme Q 10 helps decrease cellular oxidation in skin that accompanies aging. CoQ10 enters the layers of the epidermis and reduces the level of oxidation.. CoQ10 helps protect against UV light. CoQ10 activates phosphotyrosine kinases which prevents oxidation damage. CoQ10 is a very important natural nutrient for anti-aging skin care.

Our natural skin requires natural anti-aging skin care. Many all natural anti-aging skin care nutrients are available for us. They include amino acids, essential fatty acids, vitamins, anti-aging antioxidants and anti-aging skin care formulas. We can help our skin externally through the use of topical all natural lotions, ointments, creams and solutions. We can keep our skin healthy internally through the use of all natural supplements, vitamins and formulas. Our skin keeps our internal system in place and protects our internal structure. Our skin provides valuable information about our overall health. Our skin is important not only for our appearance, but more vitally, for our complete well being.

How Are Antioxidants Linked to Anti-Aging?

by: Carina MacInnes

Antioxidants have been widely praised in the media. Many know they are linked with anti-aging properties. However this is not new, it all began with one man’s theory a half a century ago about how free radicals were associated with aging, and science has been trying to catch up with it ever since.

As Dr. Nicholas Perricone, M.D., states in his 2001 book, “The Wrinkle Cure”: “When it comes to aging, it’s not Father Time that’s public enemy number 1. It’s the very busy, very nasty little molecule called the free radical.”

The Free Radical Theory of Aging was published by Denman Harman in 1956. He theorized that aging is a result of free radical damage of the cells of the body. This is also called oxidative stress.

Today, a great deal of experimental evidence supports the premise that length of life is determined by the crucial balance of antioxidants with free radicals in the body. Oxidative stress is being shown to be at the root of disease and aging.

One example is that the life of the fruit fly was up to 30% longer when it was genetically altered with an addition of enzymatic antioxidants. Not only that, but the altered fruit flies also showed a reduced amount of age-related oxidative damage.

Studies of humans have also shown evidence of free radical damage playing a large part in human aging. One 1996 study compared markers of free radical damage in the blood and found evidence of the highest oxidative damage associated with the disabled elderly, an intermediate amount with the healthy elderly, and the lowest levels with the healthy adults.

The study also found that higher blood levels of antioxidant Vitamins C and E were associated with less disability, and signs of free radical damage were associated with more disability.

We need to rethink our concept of aging. We accept disease, disability, senility, wrinkles, and all the other many signs of aging as natural. Instead, we should view this as ‘unsuccessful aging’ – ie., aging associated with deterioration, disease and disability.

Successful aging is what happens when the human body is able to fight off oxidative stress, and continue to regenerate and repair itself. Successful aging is getting older healthily, without significant pathological conditions.

What the evidence is telling us is that it is crucial we take antioxidants and free radicals very seriously if we want to ‘age gracefully’ and avoid the many pitfalls of ‘unsuccessful aging’.

Even young people can be victims of unsuccessful aging, if they are not providing their bodies with the necessary balance of having have enough dietary antioxidants to fight off the free radicals.

In our modern culture, many of us are guilty of not getting adequate nutrition. It’s ironic, when we are the richest we have ever been that we should be feeding our bodies so poorly.

An interesting example of how a person can seriously damage their body with the wrong diet was seen in the Documentary ‘Super Size Me’ by Morgan Spurlock who ate only McDonald’s for a month. In just 30 days of having a junk food diet as his sole source of nutrition, his health was spiraling downwards and out of control.

The fact that he gained 25 pounds in a month was the least of his worries. He experienced a toxic liver, a significant increase in cholesterol, headaches, depression, a lower sex drive and poor skin. He returned to normal after his experiment ended.

Unfortunately a great many of us continue to do damage to our bodies, by smoking cigarettes, drinking coffee, eating junk food, and not eating our vegetables. When the media began warning us of free radicals, many of us did not understand the massive damage we were causing our bodies or how to prevent it, especially as most of the signs of damage are invisible until it is too late.

Free radical damage is accumulative and spreads like wildfire over time. Do your body a favor. Feed it a diet rich in antioxidant nutrition. Make it a habit, eat your fruits and vegetables, take your vitamins, and try to stop or cut down on damaging bad habits. You will thank yourself in 20 years.

Use antioxidants wisely to age successfully. Maybe like the fruit fly, you too can live 30% longer.

HGH The Human Growth Hormone Supplement For 50 And Over

by: James Zeller

Baby boomers are known for their purchasing prowess and for their aches and pains. If you are gasping as you rise from the chair or groaning as you set down you might be 50 and over!

When I was 21 my eyesight was keener, I was stronger, my skin looked smooth, my sex drive was in overdrive and I felt like I could pick up the world, place it on my shoulder and walk off with it. Well now I am 56 and it feels like I did pick up the World on my shoulder and now I have no place to put it down!

Welcome to 50 and over! As you age your pituitary gland produces less human growth hormone than it did at your peak, which was 21. The ideal condition would be to stimulate the pituitary to produce more HGH to prevent aging.

Human growth hormone has been collected by harvesting HGH from other humans and injecting the foreign HGH into the body at a cost of $3000.00 to $4000.00 a month. This application requires a prescription. There is another method called precursors that can allow the level of HGH to go below the level that you are currently manufacturing in your body, which is dangerous as it may cause the pituitary to shut down. The Homeopathic version includes small amounts of human growth hormone that is “activated” by transferring energy from the homeopathic’s hand into the bottle of formulation. No clinical evidence supports this method of production at this time. And then there is the natural way. A “releaser” is natural herbs and minerals that stimulate your pituitary gland to produce more HGH, which gives you a more youthful life and body with no side effects. The releaser should only be chosen that has a clinical history; doctor formulated and be taken orally.

I was beginning to see age spots on my skin, hair thinning, loss of libido, memory playing tricks on me, having trouble sleeping, vision dimming, and the lack of energy. I began to see the benefits of using an HGH supplement that would stimulate the pituitary gland. My cholesterol level has become like the thermometer, up and down like the temperature and wrinkles where I never had them before. Some people want to roll back the aging clock back; I just want to stop it! If an HGH supplement will arrest my aging process and take some time off this body that I have accumulated, I’ll consider it a bonus!

When you are 50 and over you soon grow to realize quality of life far exceeds quantity of years. I watch folks my age and younger now struggle to get up from a couch, groan as they stand after sitting, ache for no apparent reason and I am happy for the discovery of HGH supplements and the myth busting of the fountain of youth.

There are vendors who sell HGH plus other natural vitamins, supplements and minerals. Most are without clinical trials to back their product. I tried to find a product that had a 10-year history and a doctor formulated product that would have no side effects on ME other than natural youth changes. I also looked for a reputable company to buy from that had a money back guarantee and a professional web presentation.

HGH and Bodybuilding – Will HGH Really Help You Build Muscle?

by: Andre Martin

Human growth hormone (HGH) is present in all of us. It is the basic reason why children grow taller, develop muscles and finally reach puberty. However, biologically the growth hormone levels in humans reduce considerably after reaching puberty. This is the reason why people don’t grow taller after a certain age. It is not only about growing taller, but even muscle mass and other internal organs of the body cease to grow any more.

HGH and bodybuilding share a love-hate relationship. If used proportionately and under supervision, then HGH injections at a later stage in life can enhance muscle mass in humans. However, this is a sort of substance abuse. Hence, it has its share of side effects as well. If not taken in controlled amounts, HGH can lead to various skin diseases, organ deformities, and even diabetes.

Excess growth of muscles physically pushes against organs like the kidney, heart and lungs. Therefore, this leads to various medical complications. The hormone may also interact with other hormones of the body and affect the nervous system. Behavioral changes are common in those who take HGH supplements to gain muscle mass.

Since HGH is found in the body naturally, supplements of it can be considered to be taken to enhance muscle mass. However, HGH and bodybuilding should not be thought as complimentary. There are other ways to gain muscle mass which are part of workout regimes. Those should be followed as well. Medical substances have their share of complications.

Creutzveldt Jacob Disease is a disease that is associated with excessive use of HGH for a long period of time. It has proved to be fatal for most of its patients. Although it is not too common among people, this disease is dangerous, and HGH supplement has been sighted as a key causative factor. There are HGH supplements that are formulated from natural growth hormones. Supplements of these have worse effects on the human body than those that are artificially made through chemical imitation at the laboratory.

HGH and bodybuilding have been associated with each other for a long time. Since the level of growth hormone in humans fall after a certain age, many individuals might be dissatisfied with their physical proportions. They might be interested in enhancing some parts of their body by taking supplements of growth hormones to gain muscle mass.

The most common users of HGH are those that belong to the entertainment industry. Professional wrestlers, who are expected to look like huge, hulking creatures might depend on HGH to literally build their body to that proportion. Actors take growth hormones to get rid of their lanky appearance and gain muscle mass in a short time. It is far easier this way rather than slogging in the gym to gain that mass.

Most of the side effects known regarding the use of HGH are through customer feedback. Other problems faced by those who have used the supplement include muscle cramps while performing any physical activity, especially when that body part is not covered or clothed.

Some words about anti-aging and disease prevention

The aging process is for the greater part no mystery anymore. It consists for a great part of daily damages done on the macroscopic, tissue, cellular and genetic levels. These add up as the years are passing. These damages have specific causes like oxidating agents, sun beams, mechanical wear and tear, psychological stress, lack of some nutritional components and too much of others, like fat.

Another component of aging is the reduction of the telomere chains at the chromosome ends, as each cell division occurs. However, the body has means to repair these ends again, with an enzyme called telomerase. The rapidity of the aging process depends on lack of efficiency in this repair process. The above mention aging causes also slow down this repair process.

The factors causing aging, also causes other diseases like cancer and coronary heart disease. Both aging and these diseases can in great extend be prevented with the knowledge possessed today, and the damages can in great extend be reversed. The components to achieve this are:

-Adequate dayly food containing whole cereals, peas, beans, vegetables, fruit, fish, mushroms, fouls and seafood, and with just a moderate amount of red meat.

-Just a moderate amount of fat and most of the fat supply comming from sources like olive, fish, nuts, sun-flower, etc. Then you will get a good balance between mono-unsaturated fat (olive), poly-unsaturated fat of the omaga-3-type (fish) and poly-unsaturated fat of the omega-6-type.

-Just a very moderate amount of butter, soya oil, corn oil and palm oil. A high consumption of these fat sources gives you too much saturated fat and poly-unsaturated omega-6-fat.

-Just a very moderate amount of sugar, refined flour or refined cereals.

-Supplements of specific nutritional components like vitamins, minerals, lecitin and some essential fatty acids.

-Adequate training, that both gives both a muscular load, work up your condition and stretches out your body. To stretch out, yoga-exercizes are ideal.

-Adequate rest and stress-reduction. Daily meditation is a method of achieving this. Natural relaxing agents or spesific tools for meditation or relaxation may also be useful.

-Supplements of specific anti-aging agents like anti-oxidants or human growth hormone.

-Use of spesific anti-aging agents to apply upon the skin surface.

-To protect the skin against excessive sun exposure.

The amount one needs of nutritional supplements, like vitamins and minerals, differs very much according to a person`s health condition, work load and exposure to environmental stress. A person having a poor digestion, doing high performance sport or being exposed to a high amount of environmental stressors, may need more than an person in an average situation.

GABA: An Inexpensive, Natural, and Effective Way to Increase HG

by: Danielle Sims

Suppose you can turn back the hands of time to 10 years ago. You would look younger, have more energy, and be slimmer. HGH (Human Growth Hormone) is a chemical produced in the pituitary gland of the brain. HGH is reported to decline starting at the age of 25. Some of the many benefits of increasing this hormone in the body are: o Lose fat, gain muscle o Increase energy level o Enhance sexual performance o Increase cardiac output o Remove wrinkles o Eliminate cellulite o Increase memory retention o Improve sleep quality o Improve skin elasticity o Increase exercise endurance o Increase bone mass

HGH supplements can cost from $49.95 all the way up to several hundred dollars for a one month supply. Recently, an amino acid called GABA has been shown to help increase HGH when taken internally. You can enjoy the benefits of HGH without paying a high price.

What is GABA?

GABA (Gamma aminobutyric acid) is a gamma neurotransmitter (A neurotransmitter is a substance that transmits nerve impulses across a synapse. A synapse is a region where nerve impulses are transmitted across axon terminals.).

It's in high concentration in the hypothalamus, so it plays a significant role in hypothalamic-pituitary function. The pituitary gland is the master endocrine gland affecting all hormonal functions of the body including Growth Hormone.

A study from the First Medical Clinic at the University of Milan in Milan, Italy showed "In all of the 19 subjects studied, compared with 18 controls, plasma growth hormone levels were significantly increased (above 5 mg/ml) by acute oral administration of 5 g of GABA "

The hypothalamus is a region of the posterior section of the brain and is the regulating center for visceral (instinctive) Functions such as sleep cycles, body temperature, and the activity of the pituitary gland.

There have been literally hundreds of clinical studies on GABA and numerous studies on GABA's ability to elevate growth hormone levels.

This study showed over a 5 1/2 fold increase in plasma growth hormone levels 90 minutes after GABA administration. That is a significant increase unmatched by any other nutritional means.

GABA's growth hormone elevating effects is said to rival that of potent pharmaceutical compounds.

Maximum Results

To benefit from GABA's ability to increase growth hormone levels and fat burning capabilities, you can start by taking 3-5 mg per day. HGH is released within 90 minutes of falling asleep so if GABA is being used for fat loss it should be taken immediately before bed. Taking GABA before bedtime will also help improve sleep cycles leading to more restful and also has a calming affect. If GABA is being used for it's calming properties or any of it's other positive benefits it may be taken anytime.

The powdered form of GABA is ideal since it will be absorbed in the quickest amount of time. Mix the powder in 8 ounces of water or juice. This dosage should be taken at night, 30 minutes before bedtime.

Where can you purchase GABA?

You can find GABA at your local health food store or vitamin store. Be sure to purchase the powdered form fro immediate absorption. You may have also seen the ads that are popping up all over the internet for a product called Dream Shape (http://www.cara2.com). This product is 100% pure GABA powder. They offer a free 2 week trial size of Dream Shape. If you decide to continue with the product, then they will send you a month supply every month and charge you $29.95 each month.

You can also get high quality 100% GABA powder at a discount supplement store online. Afforedable Supplements (http://www.afforedable-supplements.com) online store carries several name brand 100% GABA powders at a substantial discount. Their prices range from $13.95 - 16.95 per 1 month supply.

GABA is a great addition to any weight loss and diet program. The added benefit of the anti-aging affects of increased HGH levels is a definite plus.

Facial Exercise is the Best Kept Anti-Aging Secret

by: Cynthia Rowland

Nasal labial folds: you know - the folds and lines (wrinkles) that are determined to develop into permanent grooves on the side of your mouth, in your cheeks and up to your nose. They're more than just laugh lines. Even if they were formed by laughing, you don't feel like laughing now because every time you see them, you know they are winning the war of aging.

Flabby muscles make you look older; if your arm muscles jiggle, those muscles need exercise. If your thighs look dimply or the skin on your upper inner thigh feels thickly soft, you can firm and tone that area with exercise. The same with a thick waist, a droopy backside or a bulging tummy; exercise is the solution.

An exercised body looks streamlined; improved posture means you no longer slouch and your tummy looks flatter because your core muscles have new life and strength; they're in better shape from oxygenated blood, contractions and resistance.

The face and neck muscles can become flabby, too. When these muscles soften and then droop, it is blatantly apparent that something unflattering is occurring.

Mind you, aging in the face is sinister because it takes a lot of years for faces to develop lines, folds and sags. By age forty, most people are seeing the early stages of muscle atrophy when their eyelids feel and look heavy, by fifty, the jaw feels spongy and you see that droopiness is affecting your good looks.

The look of old will affect your confidence and no matter how you wear your hair, or how much makeup you use, you will still see sagging. You can disguise a multitude of aging in the body by the clothes you wear – black, loose fitting clothing can conceal waist, tummy, hips, thighs and arms but how can you mask aging in the face?

Thankfully, there are safe and sane techniques that will save your face and they are easy to master. Facial exercises will quickly isolate the affected areas of your face and in just minutes a day, you can deliberately, systematically, and consistently help your face look healthier, prettier, and younger.

These exercises are not contortions; rather, they are isometric and resistance exercises that will shape and contour your face easily and simply without the high costs typically associated with cosmetic or plastic surgery.

From the moment you begin this incredible transformation process, you will see and feel the difference in your muscles and skin every time you perform the exercise movements.

Successfully exercising your cheeks to lift those laugh lines requires you to learn how to anchor the muscles near the nose so when they contract they reposition higher near the ear in the hairline. Have you stood in front of your mirror and pulled the hairline up and back just wishing you could iron out those lines that run from the nose to the mouth?

Exercise helps this to happen. Not just one exercise. Several exercises target specific muscles and muscle groups to contract the cheek muscles up and back to the ear. Contractions and resistance movements plump up the muscles, helps the skin to look healthier from the increased blood supply and gives your face a toned and tightened look.

The muscles in the face weave over and under each other; one end attaches to bone, the other end attaches to either skin or another muscle. This means that when the muscles begin their downward slide, they pool into other muscles and muscle groups, depressing the face making one look tired and even old.

You can stop this.

Surgeons do not want you to know that you can shape and contour your face with facial exercise. They want you to believe that you need injections, surgery and other costly modalities to keep you looking younger.

Exercise is so easy and it makes sense. Consider this, in just minutes a day you can create visible changes that will turn into lasting results. In the privacy of your home, using only your thumbs and fingers, you have the power to reshape and contour your face so that you look younger and healthier without surgery, injections or risky procedures.

For the rest of your life, this exercise program will work for you and you can forever look substantially younger. It's the best kept secret!

Try the following exercise for a few days and see your forehead smooth and your eyes lift.

Baby Boomers Ultimate Anti-Aging Concepts: 5 Radical Tips

by: Richie Mont

Many of us “Baby Boomers” are each beginning to feel our age, and we’re starting to live it too. Every morning, clock radios everywhere announce the start of another day. As a typical boomer rolls out of bed, an old ache, pain, and/or little worry makes its presence known, just like the day before. The same beverage -- coffee, tea, or maybe even caffeinated soda -- is ingested in an attempt to energize the same tired face reflected in the morning mirror.

By the time we hit our 50’s, we may have feelings that our lives are not as they could be. Yes, there are pills, and many varieties of the “quick fix”’ (also called the “Life Makeover”) -- everything from creams to diets and Bo-tox injections, perfect-sounding and easy “fountains of youth,” for ourselves. Let’s face it , most of us are looking for ways to slow the ticking of our biological clocks.

I’m here to tell you that in order to really slow that clock down, we must get “radical” in our approach to controlling our processes; getting radical means that we can, in the words of Star Trek character Jean Luc Picard, “make it so”. We can literally make our own clocks tick more slowly.

Getting radical is a process that occurs within ourselves. First of all, it’s the power of our intentions and the measure of our wills. It’s saying to ourselves -- with conviction -- “I want this to be!” Next, it’s believing, strongly, that we can! When we commit ourselves to these beliefs, we are then capable of achieving many remarkable accomplishments of mind and body. All we have to do is to challenge ourselves and our perceptions of who we are. The five radical tips follow:

1. Firewalking: How does walking on fire relate to youthing? An art that’s been practiced in many cultures for thousands of years, firewalking is about mind/body transformation. Its goal is to” question” the laws of nature. The experience becomes a powerful metaphor for anti-aging -- which I refer to as youthing -- and it’s a very radical way of challenging ourselves to stretch beyond what we think is possible. I have participated in dozens of firewalks, and the experiences taught me more about myself, and about questioning nature’s laws as they applied to me, than I’d ever thought possible. Oh -- and I walked on fire.

2. Breathwork. This is a simple yet profound yogic breathing technique that has a cleansing and healing effect at all levels of our awareness -- physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental. It’s the quickest method available that can aid us in healing from previous traumas, negative belief systems, and unwanted “baggage” that many of us unconsciously carry around with us.

3. Fasting. As I write this, I have just completed a four-day fast. (How could I talk my talk without walking it?) Fasting is perhaps the most powerful tip for youthing. Many of us, especially in the U.S., literally eat ourselves to death. Note: there are many types of fasts and many reasons for fasting. It’s wise to check with your health care practitioner before fasting.

4. Physical Immortality. Now here is an idea whose time has arrived. Let’s imagine this concept: “Life without death is pure life.” When we do this, we’re unraveling our personal death urge, which dwells somewhere inside us in that place where pain, aging, and negativity also dwell. While I realize this is a radical idea, relax. We really don’t have to buy into this idea; in order to let the concept work its magic, we just need to be open to it.

5. Hypnosis. As Deepak Chopra has written in AGELESS BODY TIMELESS MIND: ”Aging seems to be something that’s happening to you, when in fact it is something your body has largely learned to do. It has learned to carry out the programming fed into it by you, the programmer” (Harmony Books, 1993). Hypnotherapy is simple, very effective, and can be fun, depending on its purpose; and whether a hypnotherapy session is done in person or by phone, it sets the stage for stretching beyond set limitations. Hypnosis is the art of placing the conscious self in a state of heightened suggestibility. During this time the unconscious self is very open to change and can literally set aside any limiting beliefs that may have been interfering with one’s ability to change.

It’s a proven fact that our bodies are constantly creating new and healthy cells to replace old and damaged ones, and every new cell gets its “replacing” instructions from the DNA contained in the old cell. So, it stands to reason that if our DNA programs our new cells with the healthiest and youngest information possible as a blueprint for development, the body’s cell memories will change. This process is called “Cell Transformation”. The question arises: Can hypnosis really be a powerful tool to us in order to literally tell our bodies cells to be younger? From my experience, I believe the answer is yes.

My conclusion is that over 14 million hits on Google for “mind/body connection” can’t be wrong. From my own personal experience I am pleased to report that indeed my quest for youth is paying off. Now at the “calendar” age of 55, except for a few silver hairs I both look and feel not much over 35 years young.

Anti-Aging Supplements: Do They Work?

by: Megan Hazel

The amount of recent information about anti-aging supplements is staggering. Suddenly, everywhere you look there is a new way to turn back the clock and preserve your young skin. Previous products being offered usually came from a lab and included ingredients that you could hardly pronounce let alone relate to. Now, not only are there topical solutions to aging being offered, but there is also relief in the form of vitamin and mineral supplement. It is being strongly suggested that you drink, eat, and topically treat yourself to a more youthful appearance.

A great number of exciting discoveries have been made with regard to how we age, and how we can best prevent it from appearing in our skin. Obviously, we cannot stop the aging process, but we can certainly slow it down and prevent it from making such a marked difference in our appearance. One of the best and most critical ways to do this is to protect ourselves from the sun, which is the ultimate aging factor for most people, especially if you are fair-skinned. However, there are a number of great supplements to take in order to help keep our skin looking young, supple, and beautiful even longer.

A group of molecules called antioxidants are the key to keeping our skin in shape. While antioxidants have been used in the medical and health industries for quite a long time for situations regarding heart health, cardiovascular support, and other physical longevity reasons, they are a relatively new find for the field of skin health. There are a few very beneficial antioxidants that stand out as being the most critical for skin renewal and rejuvenation including Alpha Lipoic Acid, Vitamin C and Vitamin E.

Alpha Lipoic Acid is highly touted as the new addition suggested to use with vitamins C and E because it appears to prevent the deficiency of those vitamins. In other words, by combining alpha lipoic acid with vitamin C and E, the two vitamins are used more efficiently and effectively in the body. Many people take alpha lipoic acid orally in supplement form daily, but you can also find many high-grade cosmetics and skin care products that include it in their formulas if you prefer topical use.

Vitamin C is essential to one’s heath, and is important for everything from skin health to heart health to cellular growth. Also known as ascorbic acid, it is an essential nutrient and cannot be manufactured alone in the body. Therefore, it must be ingested it in order to reap its benefits. The benefits of vitamin C as an antioxidant cannot be overstated; it helps to synthesize collagen in the body, which is all-important for youthful skin and skin elasticity. It also helps in the synthesis of carnitine, an amino acid that transports fatty acids which are also crucial for optimal skin health. Since vitamin C has a very low toxicity level, one cannot easily ‘overdose’ on vitamin C. It is excreted by the body via urine and excessive intake will not damage any organs. Time-release capsules of vitamin C are also available so that the benefits can be gradually accepted by the body throughout the day. While many people get vitamin C through their consumption of fruits and vegetables, supplementing with it is a great idea. As a powerful antioxidant, it protects your body , including your skin, from free radicals which are damaging and aging. As with alpha lipoic acid, some manufacturers of this supplement also make an elixir or topical form to use on the skin. You can experiment with both oral ingestion and topical application and see which combination works best for you.

Vitamin E is another great supplement that should be incorporated into your regimen of anti-aging skin care. It is in a class called tocopherols, and it is a fat-soluble vitamin with strong anti-oxidant properties. This vitamin also protects against free radicals, much like vitamin C. However, whereas vitamin C is water soluble, vitamin E will stay in the fats of the body and be absorbed differently. Vitamin E is wonderful in its role as a beneficial supplement to help reduce the risk of cancer, and in reducing cholesterol. It is also considered a wonderful salve for the skin as well as a good moisturizer. When taken internally, it can help turn back the hands of time with its anti-aging properties. Many people use a topical supplement form that combines both C and E. You can find them in your local health food or vitamin shop, or look at some of the finer cosmetic companies for them.

The skin is the largest organ in the body, so it is important to treat it right! Give your skin the proper nourishment and it will reward you by looking nourished and healthy.

Anti-Aging Supplements are great nutritional vitamins, start repairing your body so you can start living a new healthy lifestyle

by: Daryl Plaza

Anti-Aging Supplements are great nutritional vitamins, start repairing your body so you can start living a new healthy lifestyle

In the past many people believed that as long as you ate a healthy diet you would not need to buy and take any anti-aging supplements. Most people tend to think that they will get all of the minerals and other vitamins that they need from their diet; however, there are actually very few people in the world who actually get all of the nutrients that they need just by eating a healthy diet. Most people do need anti-aging nutritional supplements to help them get the nutrients and vitamins that they need in order to fight of various diseases and help to slow down the aging process. Taking these anti-aging nutritional supplements can actually help your body to have the right levels to help protect yourself from toxins and other free radicals that may speed up the aging process or lead to diseases.

When your body starts to age there are a variety of things that begin to change. Bones begin to get more brittle, you start losing some of your muscle, and you also may have a harder time fighting off diseases and injuries probably occur more often. It can be difficult to get the anti-aging nutrients that you need by diet alone, which is why most people can benefit from taking anti-aging vitamin supplements. When you take these supplements no doubt you will benefit from having more energy, a clearer mind, and better moods as well. They will also help you to avoid getting various illnesses and diseases as well, which will improve your chances of living longer.

Benefits of Anti-aging Supplements

Many people are searching for ways that they can stop aging from occurring. One way that can help the process from going so quickly is to take anti-aging nutritional supplements. However, it is important to realize that your body will age and that you can only do your best to get the nutrition that you need to help make the process a graceful one. There are a variety of different supplements that you can take that will help your body such as flax seed oil, fish oil, green tea, omega 3's, and even grape seed extracts as well.

As your body begins to get older, there are some things that you can do to help your body out. One thing that your body produces is DHEA. This is the basic building block of both estrogen and testosterone within the body. It also helps to build up the brain and the immune system too. Other hormones also provide you with strong bones, healthy skin, and even a healthy sex drive. You may also have to help out your thyroid as well. Many people find that as they age their thyroid does not work as it should and they have to see their doctor for medication to help. The body also creates what is called HGH, or the human growth hormone. This hormone is important to the entire body and helps to stimulate growth. As you get older these levels tend to decrease, but there are now new HGH anti-aging supplements that have been designed by scientists. These new anti-aging nutritional supplements can actually stop the aging process and some problems may even be reversed as well. Much of the damage to your body can be reversed if you take this anti-aging supplement, such as the low energy, wrinkles, weight gain, and even loss of muscle mass.

Choosing the Right Anti-Aging Supplement

It is important that you make the right choice when you are picking out an anti-aging nutritional supplement. There are a variety of different supplements to choose from, but you will want to look for one that offers you a variety of different vitamins and minerals in one pill supplement. A good anti-aging nutritional supplement should include all of your important B Vitamins, such as B12, B2, B6 and folic acid. It should also include Vitamin D and Vitamin K as well. Also look to make sure that the anti-aging supplement also contains Selenium, miacin, Zinc, iron, copper, and magnesium.

A Few anti aging Tips

The following are a few important tips when you are picking out your anti-aging vitamin supplements.

Tip #1 - Make sure that the supplement you choose gives you between 100-300% of your daily value of the nutrients that are included in the nutritional supplement.

Tip #2 - Avoid purchasing vitamins that are chelated, time release, or colloidal minerals. These usually will cost you more money and may not do what they are supposed to.

Tip #3 - Avoid purchasing vitamin supplements with extra ingredients that you do not need, such as lipoid acid, enzymes, or inositol. These things will cost you more money and offer not value to you.

Tip #4 - Be sure to take extra calcium and magnesium as well. Most anti-aging nutritional supplements will not have enough of these ingredients in them.

Tip #5 - Potassium, phosphorus, and choline can be ignored when you are choosing an anti-aging supplement because most people actually get enough of these nutrients from diet alone.

Remember that taking care of your body is important. You can help out your body in a huge way by taking a variety of anti-aging vitamins and minerals and making sure that you get plenty of Vitamin E and Vitamin C, which can greatly help you get rid of toxins and free radicals. Exercising, eating a great diet, and making sure that you take your anti-aging nutritional supplements on a regular basis can help you feel great, have more energy, and improve the way you look.

Anti-Aging Skin Care: Why Can’t We Just Keep it Simple?

by: Karen Reiter

If you’ve ever tried to find a skin care product to deal with the skin care concerns of aging skin, you’re probably as confused as the average person. There are so many products and ingredients that tout ‘increase in this’, ‘decrease in that’ , ‘revitalized this and revitalized that’ and on and on and on. Many empty promises or over-hyped formulations.

In order to understand what anti-aging skin care products are intended to do, you have to first understand about what the aging process is for skin. Aging skin has the condition where the structural proteins that bind and support the skin, collagen and elastin, lose their resiliency and cohesion, causing the skin to wrinkle and/or sag. The body's ability to produce new collagen and elastin also diminishes with age while the cells in the various layers of our skin decline and thin, loosing the ability to adequately maintain moisture. Without proper hydration, the healing mechanisms of the skin cease to function, adversely affecting the skin's ability to receive nutrients and repair itself. The result is rough, lose, wrinkled skin.

Of course, we all want to have the best skin possible at any age and are searching for solutions to maintain our skin’s youthfulness. In our quest and with the constant marketing and advancements in skin care, it can sometimes be difficult to find an affordable and effective solution for great skin care.

However, what you need to know is that it doesn’t have to be that complex (as many of the product name suggest!). What you should consider is that what any skin care program should be is simple. That’s it, just simple. The results that we all want are simple: soft, smooth, clear, radiant, younger-looking skin.

Too much of the time now days, skin care marketers are trying to convenience consumers that they need formulations that no average consumer can understand, or day and night products, or formulations that highly successful, well-known personalities would use. If you think about it, how many products do you currently have in your storage that were purchased because of these marketing strategies?

With these types of advertising, there are so many re-touches and questionable representation of the product effectiveness because the personality also receives so many other types of services and procedures that impact the condition of skin that you really cannot know the true results that the highly marketed products will bring.

The positive side of the situation is that there are constant and ever evolving advances in skin care and we all have the option for our skin condition improving with age.

If you are looking for a skin care program, there are some guidelines you may want to consider when making your skin care choices:

Protect your skin while you are in the sun and extreme weather. Use proper? protection.

Drink lots of water. It’s so important for proper skin hydration and? keeping your body clean from toxins and other chemicals that could cause adverse reactions in your skin.

You should know what you are using on your skin. If you can’t pronounce the? majority of the ingredients or there are more than 5 or 6 ingredients, then it may be too complex for what your skin actually needs. Skin care that uses these types of formulations are full of fillers, coloring, preservatives, and chemicals that are not beneficial for your skin and come with a high price where the consumer is paying for the filler more so than the active ingredients. These types of ingredients are only needed to fill up the bottle and make it appealing to smell or touch. Sometimes products will contain multiple active ingredients but in order to formulate these ingredients, it requires that other ingredients be added. You end up paying for something your skin cannot use. The cheaper ingredients are filling up the bottle. Try a similar approach to how you would choose your food (skin is ‘live cells’ and needs nourishment). Watch the labels and choose products with skin healthy formulations where the active ingredients are 80% of the ingredients.

You should use a good and effective cleanser. This is the most important? step in your skin care process. Many cleansing products do not leave your skin feeling smooth and deeply cleansed. Find a product that goes deep into the pores, provides light exfoliation and conditioning, and does not leave any residue. Applying moisturizers and treatments on top of skin that is not completely clean will just make the problem worse by clogging pores and showing a rough, uneven skin texture.

You should be able to adjust your program to meet your skin’s daily needs.? If you can’t adjust the use of the products to match what your skin needs on a particular day, are you really getting what you need? Your program should be able to hydrate, heal, and renew your skin. You should see this gradual improvement everyday and not have to wait 30 to 60 days for results. It’s like watering a plant. A plant that needs water as a critical nutrient will respond immediately to the water being absorbed through its roots and perk up within a few hours. Watch your skin for a week or so and you’ll know how effective the program can ultimately be for your skin care needs.

You should be able to quickly go through your regime. It should not take? more than 5 minutes. A skin care program should include the steps to cleanse, exfoliate, treat and/or moisturize. You should be able to pick and choose what you need based on you skin’s current condition for that day.

You should not be able to feel the product on your skin. In order for skin? care to really be effective, it must penetrate the skin cells. Product sitting on top of your skin is product that is not penetrating the skin layers. Products with fillers and other unnecessary, complex formulations will may not get deep or directly enough to provide the treatment and results you are looking for. You should not know that you are wearing your skin care.

You should feel comfortable with makeup optional skin. If your skin care is? really working, your skin will improve and you will not want to put makeup on it if you don’t have to. Most skin problems are correctable to a large degree. You should be able to go out feeling confident that your skin is at its best (with minimal makeup) no matter what your age is. Also, by using makeup less, you are giving your skin more time to repair and restore itself without the interruption of other product chemicals on your skin.

Anti-Aging Skin Care: Turning Back the Clock

by: Dr. Edward F. Group III, DC, Ph.D, ND, DACBN

Wrinkles are quite literally a sign of the times. They are caused by both genetic and environmental factors such as sunlight, make up, chemical ridden cosmetics, cigarette smoke, and other pollutants. But regardless of their cause, many women find their laugh lines to be no laughing matter. So what can we do to prevent and stall the skin damage that causes wrinkles, laugh lines, age spots, and other bothersome blemishes?

How Can I Prevent Wrinkles?

The best way to prevent wrinkles is to follow a regular skin care routine, and to adamantly protect your face from the detrimental effects of the sun. You need to cleanse your skin on a daily basis to remove the perspiration, debris, and pollutants that can buildup and damage your pores. And use a natural sunscreen (with a minimum SPF 15) to shield your face from the sun’s damaging ultraviolet rays. Also, avoid smoking, alcohol, and caffeinated beverages that dehydrate the skin. Drink plenty of purified water to keep your skin supple, hydrated and healthy.

When Should I Start Using Anti-Wrinkle Creams?

You can start using anti-wrinkle creams before you even see a wrinkle appear. Eye creams in particular are effective at supporting the delicate area around the eyes and preventing or stalling the development of wrinkles. Many women (and men) start using anti wrinkle creams in their thirties. The skin’s natural levels of collagen diminish with age and anti-wrinkle creams may offer a suitable replacement. These creams may be too heavy for younger, thicker skin, so you’ll have to determine whether or not they’re right for your skin type. I recommend using all-natural products, organically certified if possible.

How Can I Diminish Wrinkles?

There are numerous products and techniques available today to help you diminish the appearance of wrinkles. Herbal creams and vitamin supplements can be used to reduce the effects of aging on the skin. You must choose which product or method is best for you based on the number and severity of your wrinkles and the level at which they bother you.

Anti-Aging Products and Ingredients

Vitamin A: Vitamin A yields a slight inflammatory action on the skin. It can help to “puff up” the skin and diminish the depth of many wrinkles.

Vitamin C: This water-soluble vitamin helps to improve circulation and boost the production of collagen within the body. It has a brightening affect on skin that has become dull and dry with age.

Vitamin E: Vitamin E is an antioxidant that helps to protect skin from the damaging effect of free radicals. It also strengthens the immune system, improves circulation, and protects red blood cell membranes.

Coenzyme Q10: This powerful antioxidant is effective at protecting the skin from free radical damage and improving circulation throughout the body. Coenzyme Q10 can be found in oral vitamin supplements or as an ingredient in skin care creams.

Alpha Hydroxy Acids: AHA’s or fruit acids help to slough off dead skin cells that can dull the skin’s appearance.

Anti Aging Procedures

Botox: Botox or botulinum endotoxin-A can produce dramatic anti aging results, similar to surgery, without the devastating side effects. Botox is a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It causes a slight paralysis of the muscles around the wrinkles. This can diminish the appearance of “motion wrinkles,” such as laugh lines and crow’s feet. The procedure to have Botox injected under the skin can be quite costly and it’s effects are only temporary, so it must be repeated several times throughout the year.

Dermabrasion: This is a procedure that utilizes microcrystals or other sanding equipment to scrape away facial skin around the affected area. It is a costly procedure that my actually require a recovery of several weeks.

Laser Resurfacing: Laser surgery is a technique that uses a controlled laser beam to remove the upper layer of damaged skin. It can visibly reduce the appearance of fine line and in come cases, deeper wrinkles. It is one of the most popular procedures in cosmetic surgery today. However, it is an invasive surgical procedure that also has risks such as excessive scarring, infection, loss of normal skin pigmentation, skin redness and dryness.

Chemical Peels: As frightening as it seems, chemical peels actually involve applying a chemical substance to your skin that “burns” off the damaged layers. The gentlest type of chemical peel available is the glycolic acid peel that removes dead skin cells from the upper layer of skin only. These treatments are quick and are often referred to as “lunchtime peels,” as they may only require ten to fifteen minutes in the doctor’s office. However, the results of chemical peels are only temporary and the procedure must be repeated frequently.

Anti-Aging Skin Care- Seven Steps To Reducing Wrinkles And Preventing Aging Saggy Skin

by: Ellen Agius

Are you wondering which are the best anti aging treatments and ways to rejuvenate your skin?.

What can be done about existing lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin? Traditionally the only solutions available have been painful and expensive cosmetic surgeries, toxin injections, and harsh chemical peels. Each of which has a long list of potentially dangerous side effects. Recent scientific breakthroughs have allowed for the development of more gentle cosmetic products that can reduce saggy skin as well as facial lines and wrinkles without the risks involved with other more traditional procedures.

Probably you are confused with all the different ingredients that we can find in anti aging skin care products, and with so many choices, we don't even know where to start.

Aging is related to accumulation of damage at the cellular level. Offenders include environment, free radicals, and chemicals. The best way to deal with aging skin is to ensure that you take a proactive approach to skin care and follow a few simple steps to help prevent the early onset of aging and keep your skin hydrated and moisturised.

STEP 1. Use A Preservative Free Paraben Free Skin Care System

The major key in reducing aging skin and restoring youthful lustre is to avoid preservatives in your skin care products. Preservatives, methylparaben in particular, have been shown to increase the damage to skin caused by UV light, thus increasing the aging of skin .

If you want to prevent aging of your skin you really need to be aware of what you are putting on your skin. While many companies claim their products are “all natural” and of the “finest quality,” a close look at the ingredients reveals they contain toxic synthetic preservatives, ‘suspected’ carcinogens, drying alcohols, and synthetic fragrances and dyes.

So make an educated decision to use products that contain absolutely no preservatives . A good book to refer to is “The Truth About Cosmetics…And Some Natural Alternatives” by Haru Naito.

Until recently, most skin care products around the world have contained preservatives that promote skin aging. However, new skin care technology has developed and there are now a few unique skin care ranges on the market that have eliminated preservatives with the goal to support the skin’s state of wellness and protect the skin from premature aging. (http://www.revolutionaryskincare.info ).

In fact a world’s first water-based skincare line has been recently released in Japan, Australia and the US which uses a revolutionary patented water filtration system where fungus and bacteria can not grow thus eliminating the need for any preservatives. STEP 2. Keep Your Skin Clean

Cleanse your skin with a gentle exfoliating cleanser. Make sure you do not leave on make up or allow residue to build up on your skin. This will lead to increased stress on your skin and can cause pores to clog and become infected.

The key here is not to rub, scrape, or be overly abrasive in the process. You will require a gentle cleanser that contains a fine abrasive to get into your skin pores and remove bacteria and soil. New skin care technology uses a fine ground stone which has tiny holes, when you wash our face, the stone goes into the skin pores and removes bacteria and soil from the pores.

STEP 3. Keep Your Skin Properly Hydrated.

Hydrating aging skin and helping it to retain moisture are the keys to reducing and preventing wrinkles. Water provides hydration to our skin. So you require a skin care line that can provide water to your skin cells and plump them up like a grape rather than shrivelled up and dry like a saltanna. Look at the hydration rates of the skin care product you are using and the clinical proven results.

Also many skin care products use carriers to take the moisturising ingredients into the cells. You need to ensure that no carrier chemicals are used which can be absorbed into your circulation and can cause serious health issues. A new water-based skincare line hydrates the skin by 80% after only one use and uses the technology of glyconutrients (plant based nutrients) to carry the water to the skin cell and hold it in. This dramatically reduces wrinkles. Research also shows that glyconutrients in skin care products seal the skin keeping in the water and keeping harmful elements out, meaning skin cells will be regenerated and skin can return to be like a babies bottom.

So use a skin care line that hydrates and uses safe carrier nutrients to fight the visible signs of aging by reducing wrinkles around your eyes, mouth and forehead.

STEP 4. Nourish your skin with healthy ingredients

Nourishing the skin with the proper ingredients is also important.

Use skin care that delivers only healthy nutrients that can protect your skin from premature aging, stress and dryness. Many plants in the world have long been recognized for their therapeutic health benefits. Just make sure the ingredients are natural plant foods or certified organic ingredients. Today many scientific studies demonstrate the numerous benefits of using specific botanicals that provide nourishing properties that assist your body in renewing healthy moisture enhanced skin tissues. This is the foundation of a preservative free skincare product line.

STEP 5. Use A Wrinkle Cream That Is Proven To Work

Wrinkles and spots are normally too deep to be effected by skin care products, but not now with the recent advancement in skin care technology skin cells can be corrected from damage done and create new healthy skin cells.

An anti-wrinkle cream lessens the appearance of your wrinkles, depending on how often you use it, the type and amount of active ingredient in the wrinkle cream and the extent of the wrinkles you want to treat.

Do they work? Consider these points when judging the merits of using a wrinkle cream: Ensure the skin care system you use has been subjected to research and clinical trials to prove their benefit. You’ll likely need to use the wrinkle cream once or twice a day for many weeks before noticing improvements. Remembering that skin cells rejuvenate every 28 days.

STEP 6. Support your skin’s health and prevent premature aging with good quality supplements.

ANTIOXIDANTS

Oxidative stress is the principle cause of aging and premature death. By controlling free radicals, anti-oxidants influence how fast and how well we age. It is virtually impossible to get optimal amount of antioxidants from foods alone. So invest in a good quality antioxidant. After a lifetime of exposure to pollutants, we need antioxidant help. The best antioxidant on the market is provided by the Australian Bush Plum and studies at an Australian University provides the research to prove the effect of this antioxidant which is provided in a capsule food supplement.

PHYTOSTEROLS

Scientists can tell how old you are physiologically based on the amount of DHEA (primary hormone of the body) in your blood. Levels peak at age 25 years and then decline. Most researchers agree to retard aging DHEA levels must be maintained. In our modern diet our daily intake of hormone modulator is severely depleted. A Phyto Hormone supplement provides your body naturally with the building blocks to maintain and enhance normal hormone production. It will support efficient fat burning, help you look younger, feel younger and potentially live longer.

GLYCONUTRIENTS

Science has now established that certain natural plant sugars are vital for maintaining good health. Glyconutrients play a vital role in disease prevention and immune system restoration. Supplementation with a blend of glyconutrients have been shown to improve the immune system and improve the antioxidant level inside cells. In addition research shows that glyconutrients help with reversing 8 of the biological signs of aging. A good reason to start supplementing your diet with these nutrients. There is only one manufacturer of the exclusive source of the complete blend of these nutrients.

ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS

Make sure you get a good blend of essential fatty acids in your diet.. Supplementation with essential fatty acids supports your skin to become softer and smoother. They are necessary to make cells membranes and for many of the important hormones and other chemical messengers that tell your body what to do.

In recent years, researchers have been able to determine the reason essential fats are so critical to the formation of soft, smooth skin texture and the management of certain skin conditions. Investigative studies have shown that the link between fabulous skin texture and intake of essential oils is explained by the effect essential fats have on the synthesis of prostaglandin hormones within epidermal cells.

So supplementation with a combination of these nutrients is required for you are wanting to reduce the signs of aging and support your skins health from inside as well as outside.

STEP 7. ADEQUATE REST

Make sure you get enough rest, so that your skin has time to repair itself.

We all know that aging skin can be problematic and sometimes even downright scary. By following the tips listed above and carefully selecting your skin care products, you'll be one step ahead in the battle against aging skin. We all get old but we don't have to look that way!

The bottom line is to know the science and ingredients behind the products you use, look at the clinical trials, ensure the company is ethical and practices good manufacturing practices and then stick to doing business with one that has a solid reputation for delivering results. There are countless products on the market but only a handful that are based on legitimate science. These are the ones to add to your daily skin care regiment.

The one thing you must do is be constant, without getting obsessed, with whatever you choose to rejuvenate your skin. A new era of skin care technology is a huge breakthrough in the battle against our aging skin.

So in summary your Skin Care wish list should include:

1. Preservative Free
2. Anti- Aging
3. Fragrance Free
4. Colorant Free
5. Allergy Tested
6. Suits All Skin Types
7. Non- Comedogenic (not clogging, won’t aggravate acne)
8. No Animal Testing
9. Opthamologist Tested
10. Visible Real Results

Too much in one skin care line. Do your research and you will find that there are limited skin care products that provide all these benefits. Go to http://www.preservativefreeskincare.info for a free report on antiaging and preservative free skin care.
